The warm weather is finally here (even if just for a few days at a time) and that means we should all be drinking more water! Drinking the recommended daily allowance of 8 glasses or 2 litres of water can get very boring…so I like to spruce it up a little by adding some fruit. Fruit water is a great way of drinking water & its tastes so refreshing. It’s fresh, healthy and I’ve heard it described as “a party in a glass”. There are an infinite variety of flavours and tastes, below are some of my favourites to give you some inspiration but you can choose whatever fruits you like best.

Just get yourself a nice big glass, add your fruit & flavor then top up with water. For larger pieces of fruit, you can cut them to give more taste. The longer you leave it standing the more flavor, so I’d always recommend leaving it stand for at least 5 minutes before drinking.

Cucumber, lime, mint.

  • 1/3 cucumber
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1 twig of fresh mint
  • Ice cubes
  • water

Strawberry, blueberry’s, Basil.

  • 1 twig of Basil
  • 6 strawberries
  • hand of blue berries

Orange, cinnamon, Ginger.

  • 1 Orange in 8 slices
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cm Ginger Slices

Green apple, raspberries and rosemary.

  • Parts of the apple
  • hand of raspberries
  • half a twig of rosemary

Watermelon, mint.

  • 1 hand of watermelon cubes
  • 2 twigs of mint


A handy tip if you want you’re on the go & want to bring your chilled fruit water with you is to freeze the fruit & then pop this into your water bottle, this way your water stays cool for hot days and you always have your favorite taste with you.

You’ve no excuses now – get that water into you.
